Polyamide 6.6 (PA 6.6)

Polymide (PA) 6.6 is one of the most common structural plastic. It is at a relatively low price, easy to process, high impact resistance and high thermal resistance.

PA66 Properties

  • Semi-crystalline structure with a Tg of 50 C and a melting temperature of 225 C
  • Easy to process
  • High impact resistance
  • Good mechanical properties up tp 140-160 C
  • Excellent chemical resistance to oils, fats and most solvents. But limited resistance to strong acids and alkalis
  • High moisture absorption

DURETHAN®

Our partner ENVALIOR product Durethan® offers a versatile portfolio that ranges from soft and tough grades to extremely rigid and stiff grades. We can offer customized solutions for a wide variety of requirements and applications.

Polyamides are partially crystalline thermoplastics which offer an ideal combination of properties, especially for technical applications.

PA66 REPLACEMENT

Globally we see a tightness in the supply of PA66, due to strained capacity of ADN (Adiponitrile) producers. In many cases you can use PA6 instead, with several benefits. Read more on our landing page on this subject.
